Mission Statement

The Association Parkinsonism and Related Disorders

The association Parkinsonism and Related Disorders is a fully independent charitable institution under Dutch law aiming to conduct research into and advance knowledge of Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders, as well as to advise the World Federation of Neurology in matters related to Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders. The Association is having its registered seat in the Municipality of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and is registered in the Trade Register of the Amsterdam Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
The association tries to achieve its goals, among other ways, by:
- promoting and stimulating neurological research into Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders;
- stimulating and providing educational activities such as symposia, congresses (including the World Congress of Parkinsonism and Related Disorders) and medical journals related to Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders;
- advancing and teaching political and social awareness of Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders;
- promoting, organising, providing for and guaranteeing optimal methods of treatment for Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders.

The association tries to achieve its goals by raising and acquiring funds through the Foundation Parkinsonism and Related Disorders.


The Foundation Parkinsonism and Related Disorders

The foundation Parkinsonism and Related Disorders is a fully independent institution under Dutch law aiming to raise and acquire funds to allow the Association to reach its goals. The foundation is having its registered seat in the Municipality of Amsterdam, the

Netherlands, and is registered in the Trade Register of the Amsterdam Chamber of Commerce and Industries. The activities of this foundation are exclusively or almost exclusively aimed at raising or acquiring funds. The Foundation endeavours to realise its object inter alia by stimulating, promoting and providing educational activities such as symposia and congresses (including the World Congress of Parkinsonism and Related Disorders). The Association has been qualified and acknowledged as an institution of public utility (a so-called "ANBI Institution"), and receives the monies (as recipient) that are paid out by the Foundation (as fund raiser).
